- . By upholding the charge sought by Helen Keller for Lions
to be knights for the blind, our Fremont Lions Club is
asked to financially help with funding for county
residents who need eye glasses but can't afford the cost. Fortunately,
NCCS takes care of screening applicants based on need. In
the month of January alone, our club was asked for funding for
three county residents. Dr. Oosting was asked to talk
with our club about the necessary needs in purchasing eye glasses.
He advised us on the differences between plastic, glass, and
poly-carbonate lenses and which kind is best used in different
situations. Dave also advised our club about seeking an
agreement with area optometry dealers for a discount for all
future Lions involved glasses procurement. Dr. Oosting is
the leader of the VOSH trip to St. Lucia with Lion Rich Osborn and
wife Marty, as well as Lion Ron Pardonnet and wife Kay.
