Lions White Cane Week
April 28 - May 6, 2006

Lions of Michigan Remind you to STOP for the White Cane. It's the law!

Michigan's White Cane Law says: drivers must stop for persons with white canes of leader/service dogs when they are crossing a street. Particular attention is needed when drivers are "turning on red".

Lions White Cane Awareness and Fundraiser

On Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29, 2006 the Fremont Lions will be handing out brochures explaining the White Cane Law and accepting donations for their service projects. Look for the Lions at Gerber and also Bills shop and Save.

100% of the money collected (through donations, and nut, candy, and mint sales) goes to service projects. Some of the local projects are: glasses for those that need assistance, Stone Lodge, etc. Some of the state and international projects are: Leader Dog, Michigan Eye Bank, Welcome Home for the Blind, Paws With a Cause.
